My upside-down soul floats
through a snow bound field past
barn boards that lean into
river’s jettisoned
bargains between blue gills
and egrets, rock
and moss attachment never
argued or symbiosed until
fossilized. I inhale
air exhaled
by camels, Galapagos
tortoises, Cro
Magnon bafflement. As the earth
breathes, colors fading punctuate
hibernating brown re
born greens, rain
filled clouds that work to
sustain nematodes, elephants and
critical zebra
blending.
